Your guide to game types.
Club Game: A regular club Masterpoint® game. 100% ACBL black points.
Club Champ: Each quarter, 2 club championship games may be run per session. These games pay extra points. 100% ACBL black points.
Membership: These games are offered once per year. They pay extra Masterpoints®. 100% ACBL black points. Both players must be current ACBL members to receive point awards.
Charity: Charity Club Championship games pay extra points. 100% ACBL black points. $1 from each entry goes to a local charity or an ACBL charity.
Club Appreciation Games: Run only in October, these games pay extra points. Pair games pay 100% ACBL black points. Swiss Team games pay 95% black, 5% gold.
ACBL-Wide Charity: Offered at select times during the year, these games are scored across the entire ACBL. Points are 100% ACBL black points. $1 from each entry supports an ACBL charity fund. A booklet with expert commentary is typically included.
Unit Champ: Unit Championship games are assigned by the unit. These games pay extra Masterpoints®. 100% ACBL black points. Monthly Unit Games (MUG) are all run as Unit Championship games. MUGs rotate between different clubs, and we run different game types each month. Please check the Unit 446 website for more information.
NAP: North American Pairs, club-level qualifier. These games are offered in June, July and August at participating clubs. Two NAP qualifier games may be run per sanctioned session in each of June, July and August. Points are 50% red, 50% black. Strata are 750/3000/unlimited by highest player. If you score 50% or achieve a result in the top half of your stratum, you qualify for the district finals held in the fall. If you do well in the district finals, you qualify for the finals at the spring national.
GNT: Grand National Teams, club-level qualifier. These games are offered October through February at participating clubs. Points are 50% red, 50% black. Strata are 750/3000/unlimited by highest player. If you score in the top half of your field, you qualify for the district finals. If you do well in the district finals, you qualify for the finals at the summer national.

Instant Matchpoint Game: This game is offered twice per year. Once in July and again in October. 1st place in NS and 1st place in EW are each awarded 1.0 gold point. Additional points can be earned for district tops and national tops. A booklet with expert commentary is included.

Royal STaC: STaC stands for Sectional Tournament at Club. A Royal STaC game is scored across multiple participating clubs. Overall awards are based on the number of participating tables. Points are 25% black, 25% silver, 25% red and 25% gold.

​Junior Fund, Education Fund, Grassroots Fund, International Fund: These are ACBL Charity games run in January, February, May and September, respectively. Extra points are awarded. 100% black. $1 from each entry goes to support the charity fund designated.
Glitter point games: At different times during the year, the ACBL allows us to run games that pay 25% red, 25% silver or 25% gold. In these games, 25% of your award will be converted to the designated "glitter points."
